Villa Lucias is a quaint intimate restaurant right off of Woodside Road. This place is pretty decent for Italian food. I have to admit I'm usually not a fan of Italian food in general but I liked this place enough that I would come back.
Their MVP was really the fresh bread that they bring out. It was very soft and doughy and it went well with the butter.
I had the veal picatta and thought it was pretty tasty. The sauce was very lemony and a bit salty, which I liked. It had a bit of tang that I was looking for. I think the capers on top definitely contributed to the tanginess. Vegetables were okay. The side of pasta they gave was very small (only like one to two scoops of penne).
Minestrone soup was not bad either. Very rich and hearty soup. -

We've driven up and down Woodside Road a billion times over the years, so when this 4-star restaurant popped up in a search, I was shocked to not know about it. Old school Italian food is right up our alley, so we were excited to give it a try. The restaurant oozed comfort, from the dim lighting, family atmosphere, and friendly, hardworking staff. It looks and feels like a cozy neighborhood joint.
Unfortunately I wish the food was as good as the ambiance. We tried the pizza and pasta and chicken parm dishes, and all of them were met with an "mmm, okay." The chicken tasted like it was pre-cooked and just reheated. The sauces tasted like they were out of a jar. I think the pizza was the best part of the meal but there are far better options in the area.
It was not a bad meal, just one that didn't live up to our hopes. The staff delivered great service and if I lived in the neighborhood I would probably give it another visit. We left thinking that at least we didn't really miss out on something great for the past 15 years. -

Having come here as a kid all the time, I can safely say, some things have changed! For the most part, Lucia's is still the same Lucia's that I remember! From the warm, lightly crisp, complimentary bread; to the salted butter; to the linguini with clams and the pizza...a lot of it is still the same, nostalgia to me if you will. By me saying all of this, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's all that great!
Now that I'm an adult, I feel like the linguini with clams might be from a can and that is so disheartening. The sauce is amazing, garlicky with a little bit of spice and plenty of butter, but the clams have to be from a can. The garlic bread with cheese was a little too cheesy for me, and it was the cheapy kind of mozzarella that was used, not the best. Their pizza will always be the same, now that was amazing! Fresh ingredients, crust is thick and it is loaded! I may come back for the pizza and bread, but wasn't too impressed with what I used to consider a staple. -

We are so glad we found this place! We have been getting the Lucia's special and garlic cheese bread every Friday for the last couple of months, it's something our whole family looks forward to, to start off our weekend! Ingredients are always fresh and pizza is amazing! Can't go wrong with anything on their menu.
